Poop Consistency Guide
💧 Watery/Liquid
Completely liquid, no solid pieces. May indicate diarrhea if frequent.
Action: Monitor for dehydration. Call doctor if lasts more than 24 hours or baby shows signs of dehydration.
🥜 Seedy/Mushy
Soft, mushy texture with seeds or curds. Normal for breastfed babies.
Action: This is usually normal and healthy, especially for exclusively breastfed babies.
💎 Firm/Hard
Hard pellets or very firm logs. May indicate constipation.
Action: May need more fluids or dietary changes. Consult pediatrician if baby seems uncomfortable or straining excessively.
